25 años de producción científica en España sobre cirugía de cáncer gastroesofágico: ¿cuándo?, ¿dónde? y ¿quién?

25 years of scientific literature in Spain on gastroesophageal cancer surgery: when, where, and who?

Resumen:

En la producción científica española sobre cáncer gastroesofágico de los últimos años se analiza su evolución, dónde se ha publicado y quiénes son las instituciones de liderazgo en esta materia. Entre 2000 y 2024 se han recogido 2.993 referencias a partir de las búsquedas bibliográficas en cuatro bases de datos (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science y Scopus). Su crecimiento ha sido constante, produciéndose en los últimos diez años la mitad de los artículos identificados. Todos ellos se han recogido en más de 700 revistas, la primera de ellas la Revista Española de Enfermedades Digestivas, siendo un 90% de los títulos internacionales, mientras que por número de trabajos el 27,8% se recoge en revistas españolas. Por instituciones, figura Cataluña y Madrid como las más relevantes, así como hospitales y centros de investigación, destacando entre ellos los hospitales Clínic de Barcelona y Ramón y Cajal de Madrid.

Abstract:

Spanish scientific research on gastroesophageal cancer in recent years analyzes its evolution, where it has been published, and which institutions are leaders in this field. Between 2000 and 2024, 2,993 references were collected from bibliographic searches in four databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus). Growth has been steady, with half of the articles identified being produced in the last ten years. All of them have been collected in more than 700 journals, the first of which is the Revista Española de Enfermedades Digestivas, with 90% of the titles being international, while 27.8% of the articles are published in Spanish journals. In terms of institutions, Catalonia and Madrid are the most relevant, as well as hospitals and research centers, for example, such as the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona and the Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid.
